BRITS DREAM BIG FOR THEIR CAREER GOALS
‘When I grow up I’m going to be…’ is something we often hear little ones say or have said ourselves in the past. What we want to know is how many followed their childhood career goals?
We recently conducted some research to find out how many Brits have landed the job they dreamt of as children.
The research revealed that careers in the emergency services topped the list of dream jobs for 72% of UK adults as children. Suggesting that fighting crime and saving lives is the most desirable industry for kids.
Reflecting on their career hopes and dreams, just 1 in 10 (9%) of British adults managed to land the job they dreamt of as children.
We were surprised to see that so many workers are actually choosing to remain in a role which they have no genuine passion or interest in. More than half (59%) confessed they aren’t passionate about their current job and 1 in 4 have no genuine interest in their current role.
Our advice to those who are looking to make a career change or yet to make a final decision on which career path to follow, would be to take advantage of all available support services and research the certain careers and roles in advance to ensure its the correct decision to make.
